Labor Certification: Mr. K. was a national of the former Soviet Union who was in deportation proceedings when he came to our office. Upon review of his case, we determined that while his previous political asylum application had been denied, he was a good candidate for labor certification given his unique skills and experience as a sculptor and restorer of fine antiques.

Our office immediately filed a labor certificate application and upon approval, then filed an alien worker petition with the local Immigration and Naturalization Office. Once this was approved we petitioned the Immigration Judge to file an application for his legal permanent residency (green card) in deportation proceedings.

This application was successful, Mr. K’s deportation proceedings were terminated and he was granted his legal permanent residency (‘green card’).
